Complete 60 hours of initial SCREC-approved Real Estate Broker Pre-Licensing coursework. Coursework is divided into two, 30-hour classes. Courses teach broker management skills useful in planning, starting and managing a real estate brokerage company. There is no written exam for this required pre-license course.

After completing all coursework, each course also has a final exam. Pass each course exam with a score of at least 70% for credit. You must take each course in the presence of an exam moderator, whether you’re studying online or in-person.

Submit your broker exam application to officially apply for the South Carolina real estate broker examination. Upon acceptance of your exam application, you’ll receive an examination eligibility letter from the SCREC.

Once your application is approved, you will receive an exam eligibility letter. The South Carolina Real Estate Broker Exam, administered by PSI, has two sections: one for state requirements and one for national requirements. You will have 200 minutes to complete the 120-question examination.
