In order to pass the California real estate exam, you'll need a score of at least 70%. Passing the exam is much less stressful for anyone who has completed an Exam Prep course.

You cannot take the California real estate exam online. All students must travel to a testing location where they will be monitored for the duration of the test.
Whether or not you think the California real estate exam is hard depends on how much you've studied and how naturally the coursework comes to you. Most students consider the exam to be challenging, and many take multiple attempts to pass. It is recommended to take Exam Prep ahead of time to increase the likelihood of passing on your attempt.
The California real estate exam will take 3 hours and consists of 150 questions.
Students can take use their state-issued driver's license, U.S. passport, or military ID card to take the test.
Aspiring California agents have unlimited attempts to pass the state exam. If you fail an examination, you may apply to retake the examination using the eLicensing online system (to expedite processing) or your Examination Result Notice (RE 418A, Salespersons or RE 418B, Brokers).
