Frequently Asked Question

Have questions regarding the AL real estate salesperson course? We got you covered.

The Alaska real estate exam will cost students $100. There are other fees associated with licensing, but you can expect the test alone to cost this much.

In order to pass the Alaska real estate exam, you'll need a score of at least 75%. Passing the exam is much less stressful for anyone who has completed an Exam Prep course.

While the majority of students pass their real estate exam, a passing score isn't guaranteed. In Alaska, 25% of students have to retake the test in order to pass. The best way to alleviate your nerves and pass the test is to work hard and prepare as much as possible.

Students can not take the real estate exam online. All students must travel to a testing location where they will be monitored for the duration of the test.

The National portion consists of 85 questions covering the following topics, and the number of questions per topic is listed in parentheses: * Real Property Characteristics, Legal Descriptions, and Property Use (nine) * Forms of Ownership, Transfer, and Recording of Title (eight) * Property Value and Appraisal (11) * Real Estate Contracts and Agency (16) * Best Real Estate Practices (14) * Property Disclosure and Environmental Disclosure Issues (eight) * Financing and Settlement (seven) * Real Estate Math Calculations (seven) The State portion of the test is balanced as follows: 5% of the test is dedicated to the Powers of Alaska Real Estate Commission. This section covers investigations, sanctions, recovery funds, and penalties. 5% of the test also covers real estate licensing, like the activities required to acquire a license and more about changes in licensing status. The majority of the test (76%) covers day-to-day topics such as how compensation works, prohibited conduct, and licensee relationships and duties. Finally, 14% of the test covers miscellaneous topics like common interest ownership and the Landlord & Tenant Act.
